I wasn’t able to find it in Viet. The author is Quan Tu Di Trach and several of her other works are available, but not this one yet.

Thank you for the authors name! I like mythological novels but haven’t found any adequate one since finishing all the big name ones.

This story is pretty addicting and one of those stories where it’s hard to ship because both her foster brother and her teacher are such wonderful characters. It’s a bad ending thought. Everyone is just begging the Audiobook reader to change the ending, but it’ll be sad still since one guy has got to hurt.

The difference in this story with others is usually in mythology novels the girl also either a mortal or a immortal being able to live forever. This one she is a spirit and only has a life of 200 years. While her brother is a xian and her teacher is a God so their lifespan is so much longer.

The female lead is very likeable and funny. I love her pet in the story too! Brings so much memories from Once Promised with the background and things. I tried to read the author’s other book “Ou Ting’s Blessing”, but the setting is so strange. More western and seems very alter universe.

Odin’s Blessing is based on the Norse mythology so it would be more western. I mean, it has Loki lolz.

I just finished the audiobook (in 3 days… it was too addicting) and while I didn’t understand what was going on 100% of the time because I was multi-tasking, I still liked it!

The lead, Luo Wei, was a really likeable character that changed a lot from the beginning to the end from cringeworthy-ly innocent to someone who ends up looking back and reflecting critically and with nostalgia on how the way that she loved.

I didn’t really ship her with either her teacher, Yinze or her adoptive brother, Fu Chenzhi but liked the way that both love interests played a really important place in her life. Her pet was really cute and so was the lotus spirit!

The passing of time and growing up was a really strong theme in this book, and I really liked that about it! The ending was sad, but I thought that there was a feeling of inevitability about it TT_TT

I’ve just finished this book. At the beginning of this book I really love the female lead character. (Luo wei) She’s very cute, but when I finished it I love the male lead character (Yin zhe) more than her.

Someone needs to put this down as SE, it’s funny, plot is well-written, fast-paced, female lead is interesting. The angst comes from the disparity between the female and male leads – he being a very powerful and immortal Water God, having lived 7700 years when he met her and she being a water spirit, having a lifespan of only 300 years. In summary, the first half is enjoyable, the second half is a mix of heartbreak and character growth for the female and the end is when we get the full picture as to why it all happened the way it did. Listen to the audiobook for full story. I don’t regret listening but feelings are mixed as with all sad endings, but to me this ending is still sensible and the story is worth having listened to.

Will definitely be reading this audio book next for 云天河s voice!! The story seems to be my cup of tea too. Love 山海经 and Chinese fantasy themed stories a lot.

Just finished this story and all I can say is, this author is such a stepmother!!! My poor heart hurts too much right now…

There’s a continuation of sorts for the OTP in her recently published book 镜中蔷薇
I’m thinking of giving it a try just because I feel so heartbroken over the OTP in this book. Going to read it without “sequel” in mind since it’s modern story. The names are really similar though.

Ying Ze loves Luo Wei so much, it leaves me feeling imbalanced in this story that a part of me feels she doesn’t deserve him. I’m also never reading her other book where Ying Ze is the second main guy. Can’t bear him not ending up with another girl and I kind of hold a grudge against Shang Yan. Very very evil author here, I just hope she gives Ying Ze a good ending with Luo Wei in 镜中蔷薇 I don’t care if story is modern. I’m desperate!!
